Spread the Word

Spread the word about the importance of Made in NYC and Made in America as it pertains to jobs and American innovation. (From the New York Industrial Retention Network: Manufacturing jobs have a strong multiplier effect in a local economy. NYIRN has said for many years that every manufacturing job created at least another .7 jobs somewhere else in the local economy (ancillary jobs with suppliers, delivery companies, etc.)

Consumers

Look at the label! Where was your clothing made? There are ramifications of wearing the clothing we wear and the products we buy no matter where they are designed and manufactured. Behind every product are real people whose livelihood depends on the purchase of that product. American made business can use all the help it can get to help it grow.

Important Statistics: A recent Moody’s Analytics report noted that if consumers spent an extra 1% on U.S. goods, it would create 200,000 jobs.

“Recent reports verified by Merrill Lynch indicate that if each American spent an extra $6.41 on U.S. made goods each week, this alone would create almost 1 million new jobs. This equates to less than one dollar per day to save the U.S.A.,” said Mark Bloome, founder of TAP America.

The Boston Consulting Group Study, Made in the USA, Again:  “We expect net labor costs for manufacturing in China and the U.S. to converge by around 2015. As a result of the changing economics, you’re going to see a lot more products ‘Made in the USA’ in the next five years.”  ”A number of companies, especially U.S.-based ones, are already rethinking their production locations and supply chains for goods destined to be sold in the U.S. For some, the economics have already reached a tipping point.”                                                                                                         Boston Consulting Group, Made in the USA, Again
